Online Payments
Payments of Fines and Costs may be made by:
- Cash
- Check (make payable to 16th District Court) No out of state checks are accepted.
- Money order (make payable to 16th District Court)
- Visa, MasterCard or Discover
- Credit card online
MCR 1.110 / Collection of Fines and Costs
Fines, costs and other financial obligations imposed by the Court must be paid at the time of assessment, except when the Court allows otherwise, for good cause shown.
Credit Card Payments
Payment may be made in person or online using Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. An Enhanced Access Fee (fee varies depending on the amount of payment; a $2.50 minimum is charged) will be added to your payment, in person or online.
Online Payments
Payments made online will not be processed until the next business day. Please note: any payments made to release a prisoner, you must contact the court prior to making a payment.

- Tickets/cases with a scheduled fine or an assessment after an informal or formal hearing.
- An after-hours drop box is available 24 hours per day. It is located in the main lobby of the Livonia Police Department: 15050 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48154
Envelopes are provided. Please no cash deposits. - The Court accepts personal checks with proper identification in most instances. Bonds posted must be in cash, certified check or surety. For setting aside a default judgment on civil infractions, cash bond must be posted.
- The Court accepts the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Payments with a credit card must be made in person with photo id at the court clerk cashier. Credit cards cannot be used to post bond.
- Telephone payments by credit card, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express are taken 24 hours through Government Payment Services, Inc. Call 888-604-7888 (Note: Government Payment Service Inc. charges an additional fee for this service.)
- For past due, suspended FAC/FCJ citations or for Probation Department payments: you must call the court to obtain the exact amount needed to clear your past due, suspended or probation matters. You will be given an authorization number which you will need to give to Government Payment Services Inc.

- Automatic Tax Payment Plan: When enrolled, you will receive a tax statement that reflects the due date when the tax payment will be deducted from your financial institution. For the current tax year, payment will debit on Sept. 14 for summer taxes and either Dec. 31 or March 1 for winter taxes, based on the option selected. With this program, you will also receive a paid receipt by mail. There is a $25 charge for any returned payments. To learn more call: (734) 466-2246.
- By Internet: There is a convenience fee of 2.8%** charged and retained by our third-party processor, Point & Pay LLC, for this service and will be added to each transaction. There is a minimum transaction fee of $2**. Point & Pay will provide the amount of the convenience fee and you will have the opportunity to decline to proceed with the transaction. Your credit card statement will reflect the amount of your tax payment and the amount of the convenience fee separately (will be shown as PNPLivonia SERVICE FEE.) Point & Pay accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Debit cards will be processed as a credit transaction and subject to the same convenience fee of 2.8%**. An alternative option to using a debit card is an electronic check. To process as an electronic check, you will need your financial institution’s routing number and account number. The fee is $3** for up to $10,000 and $10** over $10,000.
- By phone: Dial (833) 440-3334 and an automated system will take you through the process. You will need your parcel number to proceed which is located on the tax bill just above the property address and legal description, in the upper right-hand margin, or on the stub in bold print. The fee** to use this option is stated in the By Internet information above.
- Payment In Person: Bring the entire tax statement to the Treasurer’s Department, First Floor, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We accept checks, cash, credit/debit cards and e-check payments. The fee** to use credit/debit and e-check options are stated in the By Internet information above. There is a $25 charge any returned payments.
You may also drop off your payment in our drive-up red drop box located on the east side of City Hall in the half-circle drive. No cash. Please indicate Treasurer’s Office on the envelope. Payments deposited in the dropbox by midnight on the tax due date are considered as paid on time.
