Beginning on Sept. 26, Wayne County will widen and reconstruct Farmington Road between Plymouth and Orangelawn. Traffic will be maintained in one direction as well as access to businesses for the duration of the project. In the first phase, northbound Farmington Road will be closed. Northbound traffic will be detoured across Joy Road to Merriman Road. One-way traffic will be maintained southbound.
Phase one is anticipated to last for at least six weeks. In Phase Two, Wayne County will switch traffic over, and southbound will be closed while one-way traffic is maintained northbound.
Drivers can expect reduced lanes and slow travel while Wayne County works to repair the road. Reduced speeds and load restrictions may be posted. Flaggers will be present as needed. Please use caution when traveling through work zones.
