Department of Parks and Recreation

Dear Member,

Thank you for your continued patience with the Leisure Pool closures.  The good news is that our contractor is working on replacing the liner with a marcite finish and we will be back up and running by mid-March.  In recognition of the amount of time the pool has been closed and the inconvenience this has caused our members, we have worked out the following compensation plan for all members.

As of Monday, March 16, your account will reflect Rec Bucks equal to the amount of 3 months of membership.  Rec Bucks may be used as payment for all Parks & Recreation programs, services and membership.  This includes everything we offer, from personal training to facility rentals and everything in-between.  Rec Bucks have no cash value and will expire on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020. It is important that you use them, as they cannot be used for a cash refund and they will expire before the end of the year.

The exact amount of Rec Bucks will differ based on your membership type.  For example, if you have an Adult membership at $22/month, by March 16, you will have $66 Rec Bucks in your account.  Again, Rec Bucks can be used for anything Parks & Recreation offers.

If you have questions on how to use Rec Bucks, please contact us at parks@ci.livonia.mi.us, (734) 466-2900 or stop by the front desk at the Kirksey Recreation Center Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., or Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition, please know that the City of Livonia Law Department is vigorously pursuing damages from the company that installed the failed liner.

As a reminder, until our Leisure Pool is reopened, you will continue to have the opportunity to visit the Livonia Family YMCA at no cost during open swim hours.  We thank the Y for helping a neighbor in need.

Thank you for choosing Livonia Parks & Recreation!
