Important Update - Summer Programs
It is with great sadness and disappointment that we must inform you that Livonia Parks and Recreation has made the difficult decision to cancel several programs and activities for the summer of 2020. COVID-19 has changed our world. We will continue to plan for the future and adapt to the ever-changing environment to offer you safe, memorable programs.
This decision has not been made easily and has taken into account industry best practices from our state and national peers and CDC guidelines. With social distancing set to become the norm for the foreseeable future and small maximum group sizes, we have to make tough choices on what we can safely offer the community.
Canceled programs include T-Ball and Coach Pitch, Camp Swoosh, Playground Program, all other camps, summer swim lessons, wall climbing classes, summer archery classes and leisure adult and child classes. The following adult leagues are also canceled; Soccer, Sand Volleyball, and Basketball.
Although many programs are canceled, summer registration will open the week of May 18 for Health and Fitness classes and select programs in which social distancing can be maintained. In the coming days, we hope to roll out additional virtual camp programs that will engage, educate, and inspire our residents during this trying time.
We will continue to keep you informed about any changes to our upcoming offerings.
