Winter Break Blast Offers Up Variety of Group Fitness Classes to Try Out

Don’t let your fitness goals slip away during the holiday break. Join us for the Winter Break Blast, a series of group fitness classes you can attend via drop-in participation Dec. 20-Jan. 1. It’s a great way to test out new classes before the winter sessions begin the week of Jan. 3. All fitness levels are welcome.

Winter Swoosh Offers Up Fun for Kids While Parents are at Work

Looking for something fun for your 5-12 year old to do from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. while they’re out of school Monday-Thursday, Dec. 27-30? Check out our Winter Swoosh camp.

Similar to our wildly popular Camp Swoosh that is held each summer, Winter Swoosh will have the kids participating in a variety of fun activities throughout the day, ranging from swimming to rock wall climbing, crafts, science experiments and more!

The Dec. 20-23 dates are sold out, so act quick if you want them to have some fun (or if you need the coverage so you can work) Dec. 27-30. Details and registration here.

Lifeguard Certification Available for New Lifeguards Dec. 27-29

Interested in becoming a lifeguard at the Kirksey Recreation Center? Our Dec. 20-22 training class is full, but we’re hosting a second three-day American Red Cross lifeguard certification course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 27-29.

The minimum age to be a lifeguard is 15 and we are still hiring lifeguards for the winter and beyond as we staff two indoor pools year round and add on three outdoor pools in the summer. The registration fee is waived for future Kirksey Recreation Center lifeguards.
