Families check out cement-mixing trucks and other large vehicles at Touch-a-Truck

Touch-a-Truck Returning to Greenmead Saturday

Come get hands on with tons of vehicles from local and State agencies at Touch-a-Truck Saturday, Aug. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (quiet hour from 8:30-10:30 a.m.) at Greenmead Historical Park.

This FREE hands-on family event provides a unique opportunity for children and adults alike to explore vehicles of all types, including public service, emergency, utility, construction, landscaping, transportation and delivery all in one place.

There is a suggested $3 parking donation to support local organizations. The quiet hour is for children sensitive to loud noises.

Hosted by the Churchill Rotary Interact Club and Rotary Club of Livonia AM.

Pair of lifeguards pose with their American Red Cross Lifesaving Awards

Lifeguard Duo Recognized for Lifesaving Actions

When a patron slipped in the lazy river and went under water in January, Kirksey Recreation Center lifeguards Maddy Seipelt and Maggie Swyt sprung to action. Thanks to their quick action, the patron was saved and made a full recovery.

The two teenage lifeguards were presented with the American Red Cross Lifesaving Award last week in recognition of their heroic efforts. We are proud to have such outstanding staff on our Aquatics Team. Thank you for your continued efforts to provide a safe place for the community to swim and congratulations on this distinguished honor.
