Santa Stroll Blends History and Holiday Fun Dec. 3 at Greenmead

Come see Santa and stroll through Greenmead Historical Park 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Blending rich history with contemporary celebration, families will enjoy a visit with Santa, take-and-make crafts, story time, a visit with live animals, and more!

Please register for a 45-minute time slot as your arrival time, but feel free to explore the village for as long as you'd like. Stations will be indoors this year. Pets are NOT permitted at this event.

Santa's Workshop Pulling Double Duty with Calls and Crafts

'Tis the season... to get in touch with Santa's Workshop. Register for your 3-11 year old to receive a call from the workshop between 6-8 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Dec. 12-13. Calls typically last less than five minutes and will occur within the two-hour time window. Co-sponsored by Livonia Kiwanis Early Risers.

Special Hours and Classes at Our Facilities for Thanksgiving

The Kirksey Recreation Center will have limited hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, but regular hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25. If you're looking to get a workout in, try our Thanksgiving class specials.

The Greenmead Historical Park offices and Civic Park Senior Center will both be closed Thursday-Friday, Nov. 24-25, this week.

Road Closure Notice for Merry & Bright Holiday Parade

Northbound Stark Road, between Schoolcraft and Lyndon, will be closed from 2:45-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, in preparation for and during the 4 p.m. Merry & Bright Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting.

The following roads will be closed from 3:45-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4:

Stark Road between Schoolcraft Road and Lyndon Street
Perth Street between Stark and Farmington Roads
Lyndon Street between Stark and Farmington Roads
Farmington Road between Schoolcraft and Five Mile Roads
Civic Center Drive
