MLB Pitch, Hit and Run

Do you have a great baseball pitch? Can you hit a baseball the distance or round the bases faster than your friends? Put your skills to the test with the annual MLB Pitch, Hit and Run baseball skills competition from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 4, at Livonia's Ford Field.

This FREE event is for ages 7-14 (as of Nov. 15, 2024). Winners for different age groups for each gender will have a chance to advance to a regional competition at Comerica Park. Pre-register here.

History Lecture Series: Prohibition Proving Ground

Stop by Greenmead Historical Park’s Alexander Blue House for the latest installment from our FREE History Lecture Series. Joseph Boggs will present "Prohibition's Proving Ground" 6 p.m. Monday, May 6.

In the 1910s, many Toledo-Detroit-Windsor corridor residents on wheels for the first time, just as a wave of prohibitionist sentiment swept the area. Dry laws soon took effect and rumrunners fully utilized the area’s robust automobile culture to exploit weaknesses in prohibition legislation and enforcement. Come hear more! Yoga and Yogurt

Back by popular demand! Enjoy a yoga class followed by a yogurt parfait bar as part of RISE Club’s (Recreation Inclusion Social Exercise) Yoga and Yogurt 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the Arc of Northwest Wayne County.

MOTHER'S DAY BIRD WALK

Springtime is a period of new growth, where flowers bloom and new life is born. Join us 9 a.m. Sunday, May 12, for a morning filled with birdwatching, laughter, and the joy of spending quality time with loved ones in the great outdoors. This program includes a guided bird walk, spring bird identification, and photo opportunities.

Advance registration is required for $10/resident or $12/non-resident; all in attendance must register.
