Softball Registration Begins

If you love softball or want to try it out, sign up for the Summer 2025 Adult Softball Leagues! We are offering two nights, Coed Div. 4 Sunday evenings (intermediate competition) and Men’s Div. 5/6 (recreational competition) Thursday Nights. All league teams are guaranteed 10 scheduled games.

All games are played at Bicentennial Park or Ford Field with league play tentatively starting Sunday, April 27, or Thursday, May 1. Registration is open until Friday, April 11. For more information and pricing, visit our registration page!

New Community Gardener Registration

Are you looking to join our Community Gardens for the first time?

New gardener registration for Livonia residents begins online and in person 9 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Greenmead’s Alexander Blue House. Non-resident registration will begin 9 a.m. Thursday, March 13, through our online portal and in person at Greenmead's Alexander Blue House. New gardeners are to read the Community Gardens Rules before signing up. A question-and-answer session with an overview of what to expect as a new gardener will be held at 8:30 a.m. on each of those days. One plot per household is allowed. For more information, call (248) 477-7375.

The Community Gardens Meeting will take place in the Historic Newburg Church for participants with last names beginning with A through M 6-8 pm. Tuesday, May 13, and last names beginning with N through Z 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14. Garden packets will be handed out at the meeting and you cannot garden until you have your packet. Richard, the Garden Supervisor, will review all gardening rules and tips, answer any questions, and verify plots after the meeting.

The gardening season runs approximately May 19-Oct. 17, 2025.

Garden Lecture Series: Seeds Close Up

Come learn essential gardening skills for free at the Alexander Blue House in Greenmead Historical Park 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, March 10!

Planting seeds can give a gardener a greater range of varieties, but should we and how should we save seeds? What are hybrids or heirlooms? Carol Brodbeck will answer these and many more questions in this program sponsored by the Livonia Historical Commission. No fee or registration is required! Just arrive and learn! As the exterior walls for the both new Livonia Senior Wellness Center and new West Gym stand tall, construction crews are working on some interior elements while fending off the cold weather. Interior renderings are available at LivoniaBuilt.org.

The Main Gyms will close in 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025. You can visit LivoniaBuilt.org to see the specific timeline for each phase. For more details, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.
