History Lecture Series' Pathways to Freedom: Abolitionist Women

Harriet DeGarmo Fuller was a radical abolitionist and women’s rights activist who supported racial and gender equality. Fuller was the vice president of the Michigan Antislavery Society. This free presentation 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the Alexander Blue House at Greenmead Historical Park will focus on her achievements and life. You can find this Facebook event online.

She vigorously committed herself to eradicating slavery and supported women’s rights in 19th century America. Join us as we welcome Rochelle Danquah, Chairperson of the Michigan Freedom Trail Commission.

Livonia Senior Wellness Center being constructed

#RecreatingTheRec

As the exterior walls for both the new Livonia Senior Wellness Center and new West Gym stand tall, construction crews are working on some interior elements while fending off the cold weather. Interior renderings are available at LivoniaBuilt.org.

The Main Gyms will close in 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025. You can visit LivoniaBuilt.org to see the specific timeline for each phase. For more details, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

Stay up to date on construction at the Kirksey Recreation Center and Livonia Senior Wellness Center at LivoniaBuilt.org. You've already subscribed to this e-newsletter, so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and bookmark the website for all the latest details.
