MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

Join us 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 3, at Livonia's Ford Field for the Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitch, Hit & Run. The Pitch, Hit & Run program is a free event series for boys and girls that consists of a series of skills that are important in baseball and softball. Participants will compete in a 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, or 13-14 age division, with the age cut-off set on November 15, 2025. They will be tested, and their measurements will be recorded for points. Based on their scores, they will advance from a Local Event to a Team Championship and then to the Finals hosted at the World Series. Register through the MLB website today.

Livonia Senior Wellness Center being constructed

#RecreatingTheRec

As the exterior walls for both the new Livonia Senior Wellness Center and new West Gym stand tall, construction crews are working on some interior elements while fending off the cold weather. New roofs and doorways have been appearing. Interior renderings are available at LivoniaBuilt.org. The Rec will close early at 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, for essential electrical work. We’ll reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 3.

The Main Gyms will close in 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025. You can visit LivoniaBuilt.org to see the specific timeline for each phase. For more details, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

Stay up to date on construction at the Kirksey Recreation Center and Livonia Senior Wellness Center at LivoniaBuilt.org. You've already subscribed to this e-newsletter, so make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and bookmark the website for all the latest details.
