Brickwork on the Livonia Senior Wellness Center

#RecreatingTheRec

Due to construction, the Indoor Track at the Kirksey Recreation Center will be closed until Friday, May 23. Crews will be working 10-hour days to get the work done as quickly as possible. The leisure pool will be closed July 4 to mid-August for pool deck renovations and water slide maintenance.

As the exterior walls for both the new Livonia Senior Wellness Center and new West Gym stand tall, construction crews are working on some interior elements while fending off the cold weather. New roofs and doorways have been appearing. Interior renderings are available at Livonia.gov/1899.

The Main Gyms will close in 2025 once the new West Gym is complete. The full project is expected to be completed in December 2025. You can visit LivoniaBuilt.org to see the specific timeline for each phase. For more details, check out our Frequently Asked Questions.
