Farm to Fork: Building a Stronger Community Through Local Food

Join us 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, for the next installment of our free lecture series at the Alexander Blue House in Greenmead Historical Park.

In this one-hour session, Registered Dietitian and chef Mary Balog will break down topics regarding food and food culture.

You'll learn about the ways to participate in our local food system as an eater, advocate or grower. You'll be introduced to various examples of local food initiatives and ways to get involved. This session is a practical look at how our relationship to food can support the people and places around us.

This event is free, but we request that all attendees register online!

History Lecture Series Presents 'Growing Together: Madonna University and Livonia'

Learn with us 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, during this free historical lecture on the relationship between Livonia and Madonna University over the years. This lecture is in the Alexander Blue House at Greenmead Historical Park, and no registration or payment is needed.

Established in 1937, Madonna University, sponsored by the Felician Sisters, and the City of Livonia continue to respond to challenges and opportunities that shaped their growth and progress. Noting contributions of leaders of both the university and the City, Sr. Nancy Marie Jamroz will show that it takes a community to make a vision become a reality for the benefit of that community.
