Rec Center Readers Book Club: 'The Giver of Stars' by Jojo Moyes

Join us 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, to discuss our monthly book! We'll be discussing "The Giver of Stars" by Jojo Moyes. This book is available through the Livonia Public Library. This book club is free for members, $3 for non-member residents, and $5 for non-member non-residents.

"The Giver of Stars" by Jojo Moyes is a historical fiction novel set in Depression-era Kentucky. It follows a group of women who become part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s traveling library project, delivering books on horseback to remote areas. The story centers on Alice, an Englishwoman trapped in an unhappy marriage, who finds freedom, friendship, and purpose through the library. It's a tale of female empowerment, resilience, and the transformative power of books.
