Together We Can Make Our School Stronger We are excited to bring our first inaugural fundraising fun run. Designed to help curate a healthy lifestyle for all ages, our community looks forward to building a stronger tomorrow starting today. We will have two events, the 1-mile Fun Walk and the 5K Walk/Run. The 1-Mile Fun Walk will loop through Rosedale Gardens, and our 5K will track starting at school through Mies Park. Create a team with your family, pull a group with your friends, or come stride along solo. We highly encourage dressing up to any theme! Event T-shirts are included in the registration cost and are only guaranteed if you register before April 29. Strollers are welcome. We love our furry friends but ask that all pets remain at home for their safety.

    Greenmead Historical Park

Join the Livonia Garden Club for their annual plant sharing at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, near the Simmons-Hill House at Greenmead, 20501 Newburgh. Everyone is welcome to come and share perennials, annual seeds, houseplants and even pots, tags, and yard art. There is no charge. The event is a "plant sharing" and not a "plant exchange." Everyone is encouraged to come and take plants whether or not they have anything to share. The club asks people bringing items to share to pot them (plastic pots, bags, etc.) and label, if possible. Garden Club members will assist with plant identification for people bringing in "unknown" plants from their yards. The plants will be placed on various tables for "sun," "shade," "houseplants," etc. with the assistance of Garden Club members. There will also be a table for free garden-related items. For more information, please call (734) 679-2527.

This two-part lecture/discussion series is hosted by Greenmead Historical Park and the Trinity House Theatre, honoring and recognizing individuals who were dedicated to ending slavery. Each program will be presented by Rochelle Danquah, the leading scholar on the Underground Railroad in Western Wayne and Oakland counties, and hosted in buildings where Livonia’s abolitionists met, hosted meetings and organized state antislavery conferences. Join us in celebrating the role our community played in eradicating chattel slavery in America.
