Engine 1 (E-1)

Officers with Rescue Boat

E-1 is housed at Station 1 and responds to all commercial and residential fires. Here are some features of E-1:

  • 1,000-gallon water tank
  • 75-foot ladder/squirt
  • Auto-deployable deluge gun
  • Can pump water at 2,000 gallons per minute
  • On-board foam

E-1 is also a licensed Paramedic unit, with medical supplies and extrication equipment like the Jaws of Life.

Rescue Squad

Western Wayne Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Trailer

Livonia Fire Department has five rescue squads, one squad at each of our fire stations. All are licensed Advanced Life Support vehicles, capable of treating and transporting multiple patients. They also carry our turn-out gear and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs) for responding to fires.

Livonia Fire Department houses Western Wayne County's Hazmat Truck. Several members of the Hazardous Materials Response Team are Livonia Firefighters.
