Greenmead Historical Park

Greenmead Historical Park is a nearly 200-year-old, 95-acre historical park purchased by the City of Livonia in 1976 and operated by the City of Livonia’s Parks and Recreation Department. The park includes the historical Greenmead Farm and its outbuildings, a 13-building historical village, Greenmead Community Garden, Virginia B. Matley Nature Trail, and soccer fields. Special events are hosted on the grounds of the historical village, including weddings.

The Greenmead Historical Park Master Plan was approved by City Council at the Jan. 18, 2023, Regular Meeting.

Easter Duck

Waddle on over to the Friends Meeting House 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 21, for a feather-filled morning of fun! Little ducklings will enjoy delightful Easter stories, splash into a couple of duck-themed crafts, stuff their very own plush duck to take home and strike a pose with the one and only Easter Duck!  It's sure to be a quack-up of an event for the whole flock! Advance registration is required for $25/child resident, $33/child non-resident.

This program is designed for children ages 4–10, and a parent or guardian must accompany each child. All children in attendance must be registered.

Join us for a hands-on experience 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, as you craft your own planted terrarium! Participants will enjoy a step-by-step session with all materials provided as they engage their creative spirit to craft their own tiny world! This program will focus on a particular passenger, the "unknown child," and feature a Titanic menu-inspired lunch. Advance registration is required for $40/resident, $45/non-resident.

History of Troy

Come learn how Troy changed from pioneer settlement to farming community to the "City of Tomorrow, Today" from a member of the Troy Historic Village. This is a free program takes place 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Alexander Blue House. No registration is required. 

Earth Day at GreenmeadEarth Day 2026 Flyer

Get ready for an unforgettable, family‑friendly adventure! Join us for a hands‑on animal encounter with the one and only Dan the Creature Man 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18. There will also be Earth Day-themed crafts for the kids after the show. Advance registration is required for $18/child resident, $22/child non-resident, $13/adult resident, 17/adult non-resident. 

All children in attendance must be registered and accompanied by an adult.
