Student Volunteers
We are actively recruiting students to volunteer to assist at precinct polling locations throughout the City. The volunteer hours at the polls would be verified by the Clerk and could be applied toward community service hours.
We are looking for enthusiastic and responsible students to volunteer for upcoming election dates!
How Can You Help?
Requirements
- You must be 16 years of age to volunteer.
- You will be assigned to work at a polling location in Livonia. You will be required to report to your assigned precinct at 4 p.m. on Election Day. The polls close at 8 p.m. You will be required to remain at the precinct until everything has been closed out and all paperwork has been signed. You will be helping out with various end of the night closing measures, including things such as: removing signs, break down of voting booths, providing assistance to close the electronic pollbook (a laptop computer), closing out the voting tabulator and/or the Voter Assisted Terminal (VAT). It will vary based on the needs of the precinct you are assigned.
- All volunteer hours must be verified by the Chairperson at the precinct you are assigned. If you are not able to make it to your assigned precinct, please contact our office at (734) 466-2235 as soon as possible.
- Following the election, a letter from the Clerk will be provided indicating the hours of community service provided.
- Training materials can be provided prior to Election Day for your review. If you would like to see the equipment in person, we will be open for election purposes only the Saturday before each election day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. @(Model.BulletStyle == CivicPlus.Entities.Modules.Layout.Enums.BulletStyle.Decimal ?
