Outdoor Aquatics

Outdoor Pools Are now closed until Summer 2024

The City of Livonia operates three outdoor pools. These pools offer swim lessons, open swimming, private rentals, and special events. 

Hours and capacities are subject to change based on staffing. Safety is our number one priority, and we continue to make adjustments to provide a safe swimming environment for the public.

Summer 2023 POOL Hours

We have established open swim blocks at Botsford and Clements Circle Pools for Summer 2023. Where listed, the pool will close between open swim blocks to allow staff to clean the facility. Patrons will be required to exit the facility. They may return for the second block if they wish.

Pools close 15 minutes before the block ending/closing time.

Outdoor pool access is also included as a Kirksey Recreation Center membership benefit. Outdoor pool passes are only sold at the Kirksey Recreation Center. 

POOL RENTAL

Applications for the 2023 season will be accepted starting May 1. Pools are not available for exclusive use during hours of operation. Botsford and Clements Circle Splash Park will be available for private rentals on Saturdays and Sundays between 6-8 p.m.  Shelden is unavailable for rentals. A minimum two-week notice is required on all rental requests.

SUMMER CAMPS

Summer Camps and Day Care Centers will be permitted to visit Botsford Pool for no more than two hours between 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Clements Circle and Shelden are not available. For more information and to submit an application, please contact Megan at mduby@livonia.gov or (734) 466-2411.

Outdoor Swim Lessons 

Swim Lessons will be available at all three outdoor pools this summer. We have a variety of sessions to fit your family's scheduling needs. For more information or to register, visit our online catalog.

General Pool Rules

  • Eating or drinking in restricted areas only
  • No shoes or street clothing on the pool deck
  • All deck furniture must be placed along the fence at all times
  • Infants must wear a reusable or disposable swim diaper under a lined swimsuit
  • No one swims alone

The following are prohibited:

  • Diving in shallow water
  • Glass bottles/jars
  • Hypoxic training - underwater games, holding of breath
  • Inflatable toys or inflatable flotation devices
  • Running/horseplay
