Become a Lifeguard

Clements Lifeguard in ChairLifeguards are the lifeblood of our Livonia Parks and Recreation facilities at the Kirksey Recreation Center's Ronald R. Reinke Aquatics Center (Lap Pool, Leisure Pool, spa, splash pad) and the outdoor trio of Botsford Pool, Clements Circle Splash Park and Shelden Pool.

Memories of hanging out at the public pool wouldn't be possible without lifeguards keeping watch at those locations and being the face bringing a great (and safe) experience to our members. Join the team in one of these part-time Aquatics positions:

  • Junior Swim Instructor (starting at $15.50 per hour, Level 3, ages 15+)
  • Swim Instructor (starting at $17.50 per hour, Level 5, ages 15+)
  • Lifeguards* (starting at $16.50 per hour, Level 4, ages 15+)
                               *$155 certification reimbursement available.
  • Pool Attendants (starting at $13.73 per hour, Level 1, ages 15+)

Register here for upcoming blended learning certification courses, lifeguard instructor review, staff-only lifeguard retrainings and more lifesaving programs. Livonia Parks and Recreation lifeguards are reimbursed $155 upon completion of working 150 hours.   • 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, March 30-April 1
  • 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, April 2-4
  • 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Satuday-Sunday, May 2-3, 9-10
