Healthy Livonia's 100 Days to Health

Healthy Livonia’s 100 Days to Health is a community-wide wellness program designed to support healthy habits for the whole family throughout the winter and spring. Participants can take part in a wide range of activities, including fitness classes, nutrition and wellness seminars, FREE Fridays at the Rec, open swim, rock climbing, and special family and youth programs.

Fitness options include yoga, Zumba, strength and conditioning, aqua fitness, dance-based classes, and workouts for older adults, along with expert-led seminars focused on nutrition, motivation, and overall wellbeing. Interactive events for kids and families, such as egg hunts, pool parties, and Kids Night Out, are also part of the program.

The Weight Loss Fitness Challenge adds extra motivation, with monthly weigh-ins and exercise tracker submissions earning raffle entries. Prizes are awarded each month, and a grand prize three-month single membership to the Kirksey Recreation Center will be awarded based on percentage of weight lost.

All activities take place at the Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard St., Livonia, with programs running February through April. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to stay consistent, 100 Days to Health offers flexible ways to stay active, learn, and stay connected.

Due to the continued construction project, the 100-day program may experience interruptions with occasional cancelled activities/classes, area/amenity shutdowns, etc. We are also anticipating a one-week shutdown of the entire center – with dates TBD at a later time. In the event of any disruption with 100 Day programming, no make up class, no day pass, no additional week will be added to the schedule and no additional center use (for non-members), will be provided.

Spring Activity Registration

Get ready for a fresh season of activities with Spring Registration at the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center! Spring classes begin the week of April 20, with registration opening at 6 a.m. based on your membership or residency status:

• Members: March 23
• Residents: March 24
• Non‑Residents: March 26

Some programs may vary in length, so be sure to check individual class details. Online registration begins according to your eligibility date, and non‑members may check in at the Express Membership Kiosk for class‑only access.

Rec Center Readers Book Club

Hey, Readers! Join us for our regular monthly book club at The Rec. Our new room is the Bentley Room between the Kirksey Recreation Center and the Livonia Senior Wellness Center. Please enter through The Rec. You can find our upcoming schedule below!

Bunny Brunch (SOLD OUT)

The Bunny Brunch will take place at the Livonia Senior Wellness Center 11 a.m. March 28. This meal with the rabbit will have lots of family fun involved, and you can register online.

Everyone ages 2 and older are required to purchase a ticket.

Lunch will consist of pizza, salad, chips, and cookies.

Coffee Culture

Taste a variety of coffees while learning! Coffee Culture, presented by Gooseneck Coffee Co, will be held 9-10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 29, at Greenmead! Explore local brews and learn more about the differences between blends and beans. Advance registration is required for $25/resident, $27/non-resident. Registrants must be 16 and older.

Garden Lecture Series: The Buzzzzz on pollinators

Michigan has more than 400 native bees, as well as butterflies, moths, hummingbirds, flies, and beetles that pollinate our plants. Let’s choose plants for our garden to help our pollinators! Summer Flea Market Registration Opens

The Summer Flea Market Vendor Registration period opens March 31, giving sellers a chance to secure their spot at one of Greenmead’s most popular annual events. Vendors can register online beginning at 9 a.m., and spaces are offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis, with availability known to fill quickly due to high demand. Participants may reserve up to two spaces and must provide their own tables, chairs, and weighted canopies, with all items fitting within the assigned area. In keeping with the historic character of Greenmead, vendors are asked to offer antique or vintage goods, and certain items are not permitted. Those preferring to register in person may do so at the Greenmead Office or the Kirksey Recreation Center. With no rain date and non‑refundable spaces, early registration is the best way to ensure a place at this lively summer tradition that takes place Sunday, June 7.

Egg Hunt

The Egg Hunt will take place in the ball diamonds at Rotary Park Saturday, April 4, and will be separated by age group. The age groups are 1-4 (two groups), 5-7, and 8-10. Participants will be sent out into the outfields of the ball diamonds to hunt their eggs and then will return them for a bag of candy. Different age groups will start at different times, with start time ranging from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Egg Hunt requires pre-registration, but it is still free.

Please bring a basket or bag to put eggs in and a camera to take pictures with the bunny.

Playground program Registration

The 2026 Playground Program offers a fun, activity‑filled summer experience for children ages 5–12, running weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., June 22 through August 7 (no camp on July 3). Registration opens April 6 for Livonia residents and April 9 for non‑residents. The season fee is $220 for residents and $330 for non‑residents, with a $10 discount for each additional child. Swim fees and a $10 materials fee are included. Families may either pay in full at registration or place a $30 deposit with the remaining balance due June 1.

The program continues to operate at two sites—Playground Blue and Playground Green—and families must stay with their chosen group’s schedule all summer. Both groups rotate between Botsford Pool, Bicentennial Park, Rotary Park, Clements Circle Splash Park, and occasional field trips. Field trip details, including costs and registration, will be released in May, with a full calendar available by June 1. On field trip days, participants meet directly at the trip location. Dining with Yesterday: Voyage on the Titanic

Join us 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, for Dining With Yesterday: Voyage on the Titanic, where guest speaker Judith Coebly will guide us through the history of this ill-fated voyage with a poignant focus on one of its most haunting figures, the “unknown child.” This immersive program brings the past to life with stories of resilience and tragedy, complemented by a Titanic menu-inspired lunch that echoes the flavors of the early 20th century. Advance registration is required for $40/resident, $45/non-resident. This event is at the Alexander Blue House at Greenmead Historical Park.

History Lecture Series: The History of Troy

Visit with us 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, and learn how Troy changed from pioneer settlement to farming community to the City of Tomorrow, Today from a member of the Troy Historic Village.
